Eyam Dale House is a lovely old country house in the middle of Eyam village. It is set in a beautiful formal garden with very pretty views.
It is a residential care home for the elderly with a very friendly atmosphere
that visitors say is both welcoming and homely.
People resident in the Home live as they like to live and are able to choose what they want to do with their day. Friends and family are free to visit at any time and join us for a meal if they wish. Other visitors include professional entertainers, the clergy if requested, local groups such as children from the primary school, the Brownies, the local choir and bell-ringers, who also entertain the residents and various members of the village community.
We do run an activity each day, but not everyone wants to join in! We try more to encourage one to one conversation and companionship, both between residents and between residents and their Key Worker. The Key Worker system allows all members of staff to form a special relationship with one or two residents based on mutual respect, trust and shared interests.
We have all the specialised equipment we need, but pride ourselves in having a high compliment of caring and very well-trained staff, as we feel that that is more important than anything else.
Our food is home cooked and well liked and there is always plenty of choice. Snacks and drinks are served whenever the residents want them as Eyam Dale House is a genuine "Home from Home".
